who should avoid compounded glp-1 medications?
Compounded GLP-1 medications containing semaglutide or tirzepitide are not appropriate for everyone. Individuals should not use these medications if they have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2), have ever experienced pancreatitis, severe gastrointestinal disease, or bowel obstruction, or have type 1 diabetes. These medications should also be avoided by anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding, or allergic to any of the ingredients.
